COLORADO SPRINGS – The new nonprofit group Showered with Love wants to provide the Colorado Springs homeless population with a safe place for a shower and a shave.

The group showed off its mobile hygiene unit to News 5 Wednesday. The trailer has three bathrooms, complete with showers and toilets. The trailer uses propane to power the hot water heater and a garden hose for its water supply.

Miriam Neel, who works with Showered with Love, said it’s about helping others in our community.

”We hope to provide our homeless community with a safe space to shower, clean their hair, shave
and just do all the things you need to do for self-care, in hopes of bringing dignity and hope to that community.”

The trailer can also be used in communities affected by natural disasters. Showered with Love is partnering with the Salvation Army and is seeking donations.
