MESA COUNTY – All lanes of I-70 are back open hours after a wildfire shut down the interstate in both directions Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire away from the highway, allowing it to reopen around 4:45 p.m. The interstate was closed a little after noon.
The fire was reported burning between I-70 and the Colorado River around milemarker 46.
