TELLER COUNTY – Teller County rescinded all of its burn restrictions Thursday following recent storms.
The resolution approved by the Teller County Board of County Commissioners means that stage 1 restrictions are no longer in place in the county, allowing open burning.
A little more than one month ago, the county was fighting the High Chateau Fire, and authorities enacted modified stage 3 fire restrictions on July 3 to prevent further wildfires.
Those stage 3 restrictions were lifted 15 days later and monsoon moisture helped spark afternoon thunderstorms, which significantly decreased fire danger in the area.
