COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado College has achieved its goal of becoming carbon neutral.

The campus has been expanding its carbon footprint through growth over the last decade but made some changes in the past year.

Some of those changes include a behavioral change program that involved 14 weeks, 14 habits, and a 14 percent reduction in electricity, heat, and water use.

That program resulted in more than $100,000 in utility cost savings.

Tutt Library also became the nation's largest academic net zero energy library after a massive underground geothermal energy project and major renovations.
