OTERO COUNTY — Fowler School District RJ4 in Otero County confirms a positive COVID-19 test in the high school.
As a result, all junior high and high school students will be remote learning until Oct. 5. In-person learning will continue for elementary school students.
The district said the individual who tested positive is isolated, as well as students and staff who were in close contact. Those individuals are under a mandatory two week quarantine. It is not clear how many individuals this involves.
The Otero County Health Department is doing follow-up contact tracing.
