MONUMENT — The Town of Monument announced Thursday some employees recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Town officials said they completed extensive contact tracing with El Paso County Health and do not believe there is any risk to the community.
They said the employees have not had contact with the public and chose to release the information in the interest of public health and safety.
The Town said it is taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the staff and the public, including:
- All CDC recommended hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting procedures have fully been administered
- Based on CDC recommendations, we will continue to conduct thorough cleaning and disinfecting and monitor for ill individuals
- We are following the CDC recommended infection prevention and control practices to limit community transmissions and will continue to communicate with the public if additional steps are needed
