FREMONT COUNTY — Officials in Fremont County announced Thursday a second variance request, to open tasting rooms, movie theaters, and bowling alleys, was approved by state officials.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment required some amendments to the request in order to ensure social distancing guidelines are met.
That includes a maximum of 50% of posted occupancy limits to achieve 6 feet of distancing.
For movie theaters, each facility has to track the number of people in a theater to create distance according to these guidelines:
- Capacity shall be limited by the number of seats per theater Fremont County Variance June 4, 2020
- Customers must be separated by a minimum of at least three seats to the side, and must alternate every other row
- Individuals residing in the same household will be considered one customer
- Six feet distance must be maintained between customers
CDPHE said the approval is based on the county's current COVID-19 data, and if the cases increase to 48 in a two week period the variance will be rescinded.
