Friday snow leads to weekend bliss, well for skiers and snowboarders anyway.

Depending on the ski area, one to five inches of snow has already fallen in the high country and Friday’s snow will add more.

Eldora and Winter Park could be the big winners from Friday’s storm. Much of the snow with that system is falling closer to the Front Range, and those spots should get plenty from this system.

Ski areas in the southwest part of the state have some strong bases compared to the Summit County mountains, with Wolf Creek sporting a 60-inch base and Silverton with a 48-inch base!

With that being said, ski areas around Summit County should be very solid, they’ll see some fresh stuff on Friday and they have solid snow bases due to good conditions for snowmaking and previous snows.

Highs on Sunday and Saturday shouldn’t reach above freezing at most ski areas, but bring the goggles and sunglasses, it will be sunny.

Get out there and enjoy it!
