COLORADO SPRINGS – Some new and ‘soon to be’ military moms had a party Tuesday thanks to PepsiCo’s and Operation Shower.

News5’s Brie Groves joined about 40 expectant moms at the U.S. Air Force Academy for free food, gifts and boxes filled with hundreds of dollars of stuff for baby’s first year.

Showers like these have been thrown for active duty or deployed families for eleven years now.

“It’s difficult to go through a deployment, but then it’s even harder when you’re expecting a baby. It’s really important for us to be able to serve the families, to make sure that they’re not alone,” explained Lindsey Fletcher of Operation Shower.

This is the fourth time the non-profit has held the event in Colorado Springs.

Operation Shower is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. CLICK HERE to learn more.
