CAÑON CITY – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is asking for volunteers to clean up a popular target shooting area in Fremont County.

There will be a clean-up event scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday at the Dinosaur Flats Recreation Area, which is an area open to target shooting with scenic overlooks. The BLM also encourages target shooters to avoid the area while the event is underway.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring boots and leather gloves to work in. The BLM  recommends that kids and pets stay home for this event.

Those who are interested and want more information about the event should call Recreation Technician Mercedes Siegle-Gaither at 719-269-8500 or email msieglegaither@blm.gov.
