DENVER – The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union tweeted Monday morning that it has reached a “final offer” with King Soopers and City Market.

The latest development comes after months of negotiations between the union and King Soopers and City Market representatives. The previous agreement came to an end on Jan. 12 and both sides have been negotiating since mid-December.

The tweet said both sides talked for 37 hours over the weekend, but details about the latest offer have not been released. UFCW has not yet said when or where union members will vote on the proposal.

Members of the union had previously voted to authorize a strike if the stores weren’t able to come to an agreement.
