Fatal accident closes Highway 50 east of Boone

BOONE – The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a fatal accident on Highway 50 just east of Boone. All lanes are closed and may be for quite some time. The Colorado State Patrol says they have an alternate route in place while the investigation continues. You can use Highway 209 and Highway 96 as alternate routes.

According to CSP, the crash involves a Hyundai and a motorhome. The driver of the Hyundai was killed in the accident. The two passengers in the motorhome are injured and are currently at an area hospital.

The investigation is expected to take time, so expect delays in the area.
