(NBC News) President Trump says he’s “not happy” with a bipartisan deal that would provide funding for border security and avert another shutdown.

“The answer is no. I’m not, I’m not happy, but am I happy with where we’re going? I’m thrilled,” Mr. Trump said Tuesday, before going on to say he’s still exploring other options for funding a border wall.

The deal includes nearly $1.4 billion for border fencing, not a concrete wall, and allows for 55 miles of new fencing. It also gives an additional $1.7 billion to Homeland Security.

“I’m hoping that he will find this deal acceptable and he signs the bill,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said.

President Trump says he wants to add a few things to the deal. It’s a far cry from the $5.7 billion he demanded for the wall, and it’s less than the Senate deal he rejected last year.
