MIAMI – A terminal at Miami International Airport will close for a half day this weekend due to the government shutdown.
The TSA checkpoint at concourse G at the airport will close starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and will reopen for flights the following morning.
The airport is offering tips for travelers as the shutdown continues, including arriving at least two hours before your scheduled flight time, and checking in online before leaving for the airport.
Airports across the country have seen an increase in TSA screeners not reporting to work due to the shutdown, now in its 21st day. Approximately 51,000 TSA screeners are among the 800,000 government employees who are either furloughed or working without pay.
