PUEBLO – CSU Pueblo is celebrating a major accomplishment Wednesday.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart had declared the school a Purple Heart Campus.
CSU Pueblo is the first University in Colorado to receive this designation.
The university was bestowed this honor because it goes “above and beyond” to help veterans to receive their degrees after their military service.
“It puts CSU Pueblo on the map,” said CSU Pueblo Director, Dana Rocha. “You know we are a small school but it allows us to have that designation and really focus on our veterans. 10 to 14 percent of the enrollment are veterans, so it puts us on the map.”
CSU Pueblo is now one of 60 colleges in the U.S. to be called a Purple Heart Campus.
