COLORADO SPRINGS – Just after 7 p.m. Monday night, CSPD officers from the Sand Creek Division responded to the intersection of S. Academy and Astrozon Blvd. on a reported auto-pedestrian crash.
CSPD said when officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male who had been struck by a vehicle.
The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A short time later, CSPD reported that the man had died from his injuries.

All parties involved in the accident are accounted for and CSPD’s investigation is ongoing.
This is the third fatality at this intersection in the last two weeks.
At the time of this writing, the following closures are in place: Westbound Astrozon at Academy is being diverted onto Jet Wing Dr. Eastbound Astrozon Blvd. at Academy is being diverted back onto westbound Astrozon, and northbound Academy Blvd. is shut down in the 2700 block with traffic being diverted into a shopping complex on the west side of the roadway where drivers can turn around.
