Man accused of causing a Greyhound bus to crash due in court

EL PASO COUNTY –  The man accused of intentionally causing a Greyhound bus to crash and threatened the driver and passengers onboard with a knife is in court Tuesday afternoon.

The man is identified as 47-year old Mexican National, Edmundo Arellanes-Audelo, is charged with Felony Criminal Mischief, Hindering Public Transportation, Felony Menacing with a Weapon, Assault, and Wreckless Endangerment.

There were 30-passengers onboard the bus when Arellanes-Audelo started waving the knife at people. The bus crashed near the south Academy Blvd. exit on northbound I-25. One person was injured in the accident.

Police say the man deliberately caused the bus to crash into a guardrail.
