CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A passenger is dead and three others injured when a car they were in flipped off a house and into a pool in Florida Saturday morning.
Investigators said the driver, an 18-year-old, was speeding when he ran a stop sign, hit a mailbox and collided with a boat. This reportedly caused the car to flip onto the roof of a house and fall into the pool.
Rescue crews pulled three people trapped underwater out of the pool and rushed them to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 20-year-old passenger was killed during the crash.
Police say alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. There is no word on any charges pending at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
