CAÑON CITY – One person is dead and an investigation is underway after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in the 2900 block of Highway Monday morning.
The accident happened on the highway directly in front of the Abbey. The person hit was pronounced dead on the scene.
He was later identified as 32-year-old Thomas Shanye O’Bannon of Canon City.
The cause remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Athena Garcia at the Canon City Police Department.
