A new idea is coming to Colorado Springs to address a growing need within our homeless population.

Showered with Love is a mobile hygiene trailer that provides showers and fully equipped bathrooms to the homeless. The unit has three bathrooms that can be powered by propane or a generator and uses only a garden hose for water!

This is especially important in El Paso County where the homeless population is on the rise for the third year in a row. In fact, according to the last Point in Time Survey more than 1,500 people are living on the streets.

Staff say they realise it’s not a solution to homelessness, but it will help! The trailer can shower 35 people per day which adds up to over 10,000 people a year.

Right now, they’re partnering with the Salvation Army, but they’re still looking for more partners and sponsors
Their goal is to have two fully functional trailers and place the second at a local non-profit agancy site, so they can provide services on a full time basis.
