Pine Creek HS Softball Team honors Coach Peyton

COLORADO SPRINGS- The Pine Creek High School softball team honored their Assistant Coach, Peyton Riedel Friday night.

The 25 year-old died in a car crash on Tuesday, when a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed head on to the car Riedel was driving.

Her passenger, Victoria Stevenson was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Friday night’s game included a tribute to Riedel, filled with her favorite color, purple.

Riedel started coaching at the school at the start of the 2016 school year.

School administrators remembered her as a positive and passionate coach to all of the students.

Riedel’s funeral will be held early next week in her hometown of Fort Scott, KS.

Her family is asking in lieu of flowers to make donations to the ‘Peyton Riedel Softball Memorial’ or the humane society of your choice.
