COLORADO SPRINGS – The Family Development Center at UCCS is closed Thursday while police investigate a deadly shooting that happened in the parking lot just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The rest of the UCCS campus is open.
The UCCS Police Department says the shooting was reported at 9:55 p.m.
The Colorado Springs Police Department says the victim showed up at a local hospital where he died. He was 19-years-old, but we do not know his name or if he was a UCCS student.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, and you are likely to see police cars and crime scene tape south of Austin Bluffs Parkway if you are driving past the UCCS campus this morning.
