One person was killed after an accident on North Academy Blvd. at Village Rd. at about 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
Colorado Springs police say a female motorcyclist lost control of her bike and was thrown from it. She died from her injuries and police say she was not wearing a helmet.
The Major Accident Unit took over the investigation and they had the northbound lanes closed for several hours. All lanes are now open between Maizeland and N. Carefree Circle.
The victim’s name has not been released and excessive speed is not considered to be a factor in the crash.
