Members of the Pueblo community are coming together to fight illegal dumping in the city and county.
The Pueblo County Trash Task Force has already met six times. The group’s goal is to figure out different policies, enforcement methods, and other ways to fight the constant problem of people dumping trash in the city and county of Pueblo.
Pueblo County Commissioner, Garrison Ortiz told News 5 why he thinks this group’s fight is important.
“I hear it so much in the community, and I think that aesthetically the community that we present to folks that are visiting Pueblo County is really so important,’ Ortiz said.
The task force is made up of members from the city and county governments, as well as folks from Pueblo West and other community members.
