Highway 50 in La Junta reopens after flooding

All lanes of US 50 through La Junta reopened shortly before midnight last night after CDOT closed the highway due to flash floods following heavy rain in the area Monday night.Police are advising people to be cautious around the 2nd Street exit off the north La Junta bridge because 2nd Street was flooded. Police say underpasses in La Junta were flooded and so was the underpass in Swink. CDOT is currently working to drain flooded areas and you need to show caution when approaching low lying areas with standing water.
