Just before 8 p.m. Saturday night, CSPD was notified of a single vehicle crash near the intersection of South Rockrimmon Blvd. and Vindicator Blvd.

When a CSPD officer arrived, he contacted a single female occupant in the vehicle, later identified as Jodi Norwood.

According to CSPD, Norwood was exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication and was verbally aggressive. A DUI officer was then called to the scene to assist in the investigation. When the DUI officer arrived, Norwood refused to exit a police cruiser and had to be removed by officers.

Police said once Norwood was removed from the cruiser, she continued to be verbally aggressive and struck the DUI officer. She was then "escorted" to the ground by officers and AMR was called. When AMR arrived, police said Norwood attempted to kick one of the medics.

Norwood continued to be aggressive as she was placed on a gurney, and during that process, she bit the officer who initially responded to the scene.

According to Police, Norwood was charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault on an officer, Attempted Second Degree Assault on an emergency medical provider, and numerous other traffic and DUI related charges.
