Trinidad cancels 4th of July fireworks

The city of Trinidad has cancelled the scheduled fireworks event for the 4th of July due to the water ban and drought conditions.

Still deciding how to celebrate Independence Day in Southern Colorado? Well, there are plenty of patriotic festivities going on that week!

Colorado Springs: 

A free ‘Summer Symphony and Fireworks’ celebration will be held at Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 4th. People can enjoy a variety of foods, a U.S. Air Force Academy Band’s Blue Steel Ensemble performance and Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Fireworks are scheduled for approximately 9 p.m. For more information, click here

The Sky Sox will be celebrating July 4th with some baseball, hot dogs and fireworks. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. and goes until 10:00 p.m. For tickets, click here

Cheyenne Mountain Colorado Springs, A Dolce Resort is celebrating the patriot holiday with a getaway and some local outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy traveling to a number of locations, like the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods and more. For more information or to book a reservation, click here

Fort Carson and the 4th Infantry Division will be hosting a ‘Freedom Fest Friday’ from June 29 through July 1 at Iron Horse Park. The three-day event is open to the public Friday and Sunday, but Saturday will be reserved for Department of Defense ID holders and their guests. The holiday will be celebrated from 3-11:30 p.m. with a carnival, live music, food and merchandise. A live fireworks show will conclude the event Sunday at 9:15 p.m. For more information, click here

The Broadmoor will be celebrating Independence Day with an ‘American Family 4th of July Celebration.’ There are a number of packages available for a 4th of July stay at the Broadmoor, some of which include discounted tickets to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, fireworks, dining credits and more. Rock Ledge Ranch Family Fourth will be held on July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost is regular admission prices, as the historic homes will be open, a witness re-enactment of a Revolutionary War Encampment and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. For more information, click here


Pueblo:

The 15th Annual ‘Rollin on the Riverwalk’ will be held on July 4 in Pueblo. People are welcome to celebrate Independence Day with various foods, beer, and a patriotic firework display. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m, general admission is $3 a person. For more information, click here

Pueblo West is celebrating July 4th with a number of events, the Wet Parade, a run/walk, food trucks, drinks, live music, entertainment and more. Fireworks are subject to cancellation due to fire restrictions. For more information and the latest on fireworks, click here


Cripple Creek’s 4th of July celebration will be held on July 4th, starting and noon and ending at 9:30 p.m. with fireworks! There will be live entertainment, food, drinks and more, all for free. For more information, click here


Monument:

The Tri-Lakes 4th of July Celebration will be a full day event, where visitors can enjoy a pancake breakfast, annual fun run, children’s parade, street fair, arts and crafts and more. Fireworks for this event have been canceled. The event is free, for more information, click here


Woodland Park: The city fireworks event is canceled due to high fire danger. 

Old Fashioned 4th of July’ celebration is a small town tradition, with entertainment, food, games, and more. The event is free, for more information, click here. Fireworks at this event have been canceled. 

‘Symphony Above the Clouds’ will celebrate America’s holiday with a little patriotic music in Woodland Park. On July 5, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will perform in the 37th Annual Symphony Above the Clouds concert. For more information, click here.  

The Dinosaur Resource Center is celebrating July 4th with military personnel as a way to say thank you. Active and retired military will receive half off regular admission for the event. The celebration will happen on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and go until 6:00 p.m. For more information, click here


Cañon City – The Cañon City City Council has postponed the 4th of July fireworks display due to high fire danger. A determination on whether to hold display is yet to be made – but the likely day is for Labor Day weekend or New Year’s Eve.

The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is celebrating Independence Day weekend with scenery, an aerial tram ride, Sky Coaster and more. Admission costs vary, for more information, click here


Manitou Springs – The Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department has canceled their fireworks display scheduled for July 4th due to high fire danger. 

Summertime Ice Cream Social and Pie Baking Contest will be held on July 2 in Soda Springs Park. Visitors can enjoy or compete in a pie baking contest, tons of homemade ice cream, and more. For event info and prices, click here.

‘Sup Yoga and Lunch’ – Looking for something a little more relaxing for your Independence Day celebration?  This event at Palmer Lake from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on July 4. The price is $40 which includes all equipment (SUP Board, Paddle Leash, PFD, Anchor), participants must be at least 18 years of age. For more information, click here
