Colorado State Patrol is asking for any witnesses in a fatal two-car crash to come forward with any information they may have.

The crash happened Tuesday morning around 8:30 a.m. in Weld County. CSP said a white 2011 Chevy passenger van was traveling northbound on I-25 in the left lane, when a 2006 white Chevy sedan was traveling in the lane next to it.

The two cars collided, causing the passenger van to skid into the grass median in between the highway and frontage road. This caused the van to then roll over, according to a release.

A 72-year-old male passenger was killed and declared dead on scene, CSP said. The driver, and five other occupants, were transported to local hospitals with a number of injuries.

CSP said the adult male and female in the sedan did not sustain any injuries. The use of seatbelts are unknown at this time, but investigators are not considering drugs or alcohol factors in the crash.

No charges have been filed, as this is an active investigation.

If you were a witness to this investigation or any events leading up to it, please call Trooper Yoder at (970) 590-4196, case number 3A181238.
