The 2018 U.S. Senior Open is underway on The Broadmoor east course.Tournament play starts later in the week, but there is still a lot to see and do in preparation.

The pro golfers are out getting a feel for the course. A large number of spectators are out checking out the players as they practice. During the warm arm the etiquette is more casual and you see the players interacting with fans. That includes signing some autographs for kids and kids at heart.

The full time staff is assisted by a force of volunteers. There are volunteers come from almost every state. The rookies man entrances and offer directions. Volunteers with more experience at tournaments, like Rich Leibundgut from Evergreen, Colorado, take on more responsibility. His the Captain for hole number one. “Help keep people quiet when we need to keep them quiet, find the balls in the rough, and then do the passing–hold people up so the golfers can walk though." He volunteers because he loves golf.
