A driver was killed and juvenile passenger seriously injured in a single-car crash in Crowley County Saturday.
Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened at 11:23 a.m. on Crowley County Road 15, just five miles south of Crowley. An older Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Crowley County Road 15, when it lost control and spun going off the right of the road.
CSP said the car rolled over two times and ejected the driver and passenger before coming to stop.
The driver, 22-year-old Jacob J Eshbach Bauer Jr of Crowley County, died on scene. CSP said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The passenger, a 16-year-old male from Ordway, was also not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.
Investigators said alcohol and drugs are not suspect, but excessive speed is being considered a contributing factor to the crash.
