Motorcycle driver dies in two-car crash at Woodmen and Golden Sage

A motorcycle driver died from his injuries in a car vs. motorcycle crash at the intersection of Woodmen and Golden Sage Saturday morning. 

Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash that happened just before 9 a.m. CSP a Harley Davidson motorcycle was stopped at a traffic light at eastbound Woodmen at Golden Sage. A Dodge Durango was eastbound on Woodmen at Golden Sage, when the driver failed to stop and hit the motorcycle.

According to a release, the Harley Davidson was pushed into the intersection causing the driver to be ejected off the bike. The driver, 80-year-old Donald Danner of Inner Grove Heights, MN, was transported to Penrose Main where he died from his injuries.

CSP said the driver was wearing his helmet during the crash. 

The driver of the Durango, 45-year-old Melanie Garcia of Peyton, was transported to St. Francis with minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

CSP said charges are pending, however speed and alcohol are not being considered factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
