Several suspicious fires have popped up along highway 105 between Monument and Sedalia. It’s generally the road less traveled and the scenery is beautiful, with a lot of open space and homes on several acres of land.
The Larkspur Fire Department and the Jackson 105 Fire District (J105) say that it’s happened enough now that they were prompted to send out a tweet on Wednesday, asking the public to report any suspicious looking activity.
On the Jackson 105 Fire Protection District Facebook page, firefighters say they fought eight fires in less than a week. All of the fires were contained quickly before they reached a 1/2 acre in size.
Douglas County Stage 1 Fire Restrictions were put into place back on June 7th, meaning that open burning of any kind and the use of fireworks are banned.
If you do notice something out of the ordinary, contact Douglas County immediately at 303-660-7500.
Recently, there have been several suspicious fires along the 105 corridor. In both the LFPD and J105 fire districts. Report any suspicious activity to 303-660-7500.
