Police investigating overnight shooting in southeast Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs police are working to put the pieces of an overnight shooting together. 

Officers were contacted about shots fired near S. Academy Blvd. and Chelton Rd. at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found a car that had a bullet hole in the front windshield. They also found numerous shell casings around the vehicle.

While police were investigating, they were informed that a person with a gunshot wound arrived at a local hospital. The victim is being treated for serious, but not threatening injuries. The victim’s name has not been released and there is no suspect information at this time.
