Thursday around 3 p.m., Westminster Police were alerted to a shooting in the parking lot of the Cedarwood Square Office Complex at 80th Ave. and Sheridan Boulevard in Denver.

When officers arrived on scene, they found two adults and two children with apparent gunshot wounds.

According to Westminster Police, one of the gunshot victims was an adult male who is expected to survive his injuries.

The other three victims were an adult female and her two male children. Westminster Police said the mother and one of the children sustained life threatening injuries and are in critical condition. The other child had died from his injuries.

At this time police are not releasing the identities of the victims.

Nearly two hours after the shooting, law enforcement released a description of the vehicle that may have been connected to the case and asked the public to be on the lookout for it.

Our reporting partner in Denver, 9News reports that a CPW officer spotted the vehicle heading south on I-25 around 5:30 p.m. Colorado State Patrol later found the vehicle on I-25 near Meadows Parkway and were able to stop it.

The Westminster Police Department has identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jeremy Webster. He is in custody facing the following charges:

Murder in the First Degree After Deliberation with Intent

Murder in the First Degree Extreme Indifference

Assault in the First Degree

Criminal Attempt to Commit a Class One Felony

Westminster PD said they determined that Webster did not know any of the victims and did not have a relationship with any of them. They said it appears the incident stemmed from a case of road rage.

We have learned that Webster is registered to vote at an address in Colorado Springs.
