A Pueblo man was arrested after he brandished a knife at officers at a home on Apollo Lane Monday morning.

Pueblo Police said officers responded to the residence on reports of a family disturbance just after 6:20 a.m. The caller said her adult son was armed with a knife and threatened to kill her and her husband.

Both victims were able to safely leave the home before officers arrived. Police said 31-year-old Philip Temeyosa was still inside the home when officers arrived. Officers then attempted to approach the front door and talk to Temeyosa but he brandished a large butcher knife, according to Pueblo PD.

Temeyosa threatened the responding officers and then moved out of their line of sight. A perimeter around the home was established, where communication was again attempted with Temeyosa, but he failed to comply.

As SWAT arrived on scene, Temeyosa surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident, police said. Temeyosa was booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center on five counts of Menacing with a Deadly Weapon.
