Westbound Woodmen Road will remain closed through Saturday as crews work to repair pavement following a water main break last Sunday morning.
All lanes will remain closed while crews use heavy equipment to repair damaged concrete below the interstate. Colorado Springs Utilities said the pipes are now fully repaired, but it will still take time to pour new concrete over the damaged area.
The road has been closed since 3 a.m. Sunday morning, cutting off access to southbound I-25 to one of Colorado Springs’ busiest roads.
Drivers that need to access SB lanes of I-25 should take the N. Academy or N. Nevada entrance ramps. If drivers need to access areas west of I-25 they can continue north to the Academy exit where they can then take the on-ramp back onto SB I-25 and exit onto Woodmen, west of the construction area.
