Hiker rescued after long fall at Glen Eryie

Around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a call of an injured hiker at Glen Eryie on 30th Street.

The Fire Department reported that a 25-year-old male experienced a "long fall" of 40 to 60 feet.

Fire crews brought the man out using a "wheel, walking belay." The Department said he sustained serious injuries from the fall.

The hiker was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.
