The City of Colorado Springs will hold an open house meeting Tuesday evening to discuss changes to drainage and traffic improvements along 31st Street.

The open house starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. at the Holmes Middle School Cafeteria. The city will hold a presentation from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Project engineers will be at the meeting to answer questions.

The planned construction would add a roundabout at the intersection of 31st Street and Fontanero, extend the underground Camp Creek Culvert north of Valley Street and realign Water Street and Pike Street with 31st Street.

The project is aimed to help flooding, erosion and drainage issues along 31st Street.

The proposed changes are part of the city’s Camp Creek Drainage Improvement Project, which was developed in 2014 following flooding from the Waldo Canyon burn scar.
