The Teller County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that the county is under stage II fire restrictions until further notice.
Stage II restrictions means all outdoor burning is banned. That includes campfires, warming fires, outdoor welding, fireworks, model rockets and prescribed burns.
Smokers should take extra care to smoke in enclosed vehicles and take extra care when disposing of cigarette butts.
The restrictions do not restrict the use of outdoor grills, fires in fireplaces or the use of mining explosives.
The Teller County Sheriff’s Office said these restrictions will remain in place until they are rescinded or amended.
