Colorado Springs Police closed off a neighborhood on the west side of the city Wednesday night due to a barricaded suspect and shots fired call.
Police have evacuated residents living along Dale Street just east of Spruce Street.
Police responded to a disturbance call with two shots fired at a home in the 300 block of West Dale around 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Police say a man is barricaded inside a home with a gun. They also said shots were fired earlier Wednesday night, but no one was injured.
As of 9:50 p.m., police said they think he is still inside the home, and they don’t believe anyone else is with him.
Police said they tried to talk to the suspect, but were not able to reach him.
A man who said he lived below the barricaded said this isn’t the first time his neighbor has fired his gun around his home.
News 5’s Sam Kraemer was at the scene. He says he sees a police in protective gear along with SWAT vehicles arriving a little after 9:30 p.m.

Police ask people living in the area to stay indoors unless authorities ask you to leave. They also ask others to avoid the area.
