A 15-year-old boy from Pueblo is in critical condition in a Denver hospital after attempting to ‘car surf’ Thursday morning in Pueblo.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, an 18-year-old male was driving in the 2500 block of W. 18th St. around 10:30 Thursday morning. As he was driving westbound, two 15-year-old males jumped on the car.

One of the boys was able to jump off the vehicle, but the other fell off and into the street.

Pueblo P.D. said the boy who fell was transported to a Denver hospital via flight for life. This boy is in critical condition.

"You can’t play around with moving vehicles, it’s like machinery," said Sergeant Franklin Ortega with the Pueblo Police Department.
"You’re going to get seriously hurt or one of your friends is going to get seriously hurt."

The boy who jumped off the car was un-injured.

Pueblo P.D. said their investigation is ongoing and they have not determined if the driver of the vehicle is complicit in the accident.
