History happened for the UCCS Women’s golf team last week.

For the first time in program history, the women’s team won the RMAC Women’s golf tournament by 24 strokes.

Freshman Julia Baroth won the individual title, another first for the Mountain Lion program.

They now head to the West Regional field as a 12 seed in the field.

Their secret to success at the conference tournament? Just be yourself.

"I told them to just go out and win the day, so if they won the day – literally didn’t think about the day before – just go out and win that day," said head coach Sadie Farnsworth. "When it came together – we won by 24 shots!"

"We all new we were capable," said senior Alex Darwin. "I guess we never had any expectations to win but we knew we had the ability to."
