Mandatory water restrictions are in place for people living in Manitou Springs. After our dry winter, Stage 1 restrictions are necessary due to drought conditions and significantly lower snowpack this year.

So what does that mean for you? It  means that outdoor watering is now restricted to three days a week and that you can only water for a maximum of two hours a day.

Residents in Manitou Springs can use the water from 5:00-8:00 a.m. in the morning, or in the evenings between 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Even numbered addresses can use water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Odd numbers have Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Manitou Springs is the only community affected by water restrictions at this point. Colorado Springs and Pueblo utilities officials say they have a high level of water in storage and they don’t anticipate any kind of water restrictions going into place.

However, they say that could change if a big event like a wildfire were to occur.
