Air Force baseball falls to Fresno State 10-0

Air Force baseball (20-23, 11-12 MW) was downed 10-0 at Fresno State (26-17, 11-13 MW) in Mountain West action Sunday afternoon at Beiden Field at Bennett Stadium in Fresno, Calif. The Falcons remain in fourth place in the conference despite the setback.

Fresno State scored three runs in the first inning and never trailed the rest of the game. The Bulldogs racked up 14 hits on the day.

Air Force was held to five hits. Junior NIc Ready went 1 for 3 with a double and walk to lead the Falcons.

Starting pitcher Ryan Holloway (3-4) pitched 3.1 innings. The Falcon relievers of Josh Leaser, Shawn Kelley and Jake Gilbert combined to toss 4.2 innings without allowing an earned run.

Fresno State had 14 hits on the day. Nate Thimjon homered for the Bulldogs. Carter Bins went 3 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Fresno State starting pitcher Jamie Arias (5-1) pitched six innings for the win.

The Bulldogs scored three runs in the first inning and one in the second to go up 4-0. Fresno State scored three runs in the fourth and eight innings to pull away.

The Falcons return to action Tuesday at UCCS. First pitch is slated for 3 pm MT.
