Saturday was an exciting day for Southern Colorado as two former football stars were drafted into the NFL.
Falcon High School’s own Kalen Ballage got the call in the fourth round to head to South Beach and play for the Miami Dolphins. Ballage was a star running back at Arizona State University setting the NCAA single game scoring record with eight touchdowns in a single game.
TCA’s Daniel Carlson joins Ballage, picked in the 5th round by the Minnesota Vikings he described his emotions when he knew his dreams were finally coming true.
"The phone call was very emotional and just realizing it was finally happening. I’m still on cloud 9 so I’m just going to celebrate with family and friends and enjoy this moment," said Carlson.
A two time SEC special teams player of the year, Carlson played at Auburn University and looks forward to joining a contender in the Vikings for the 2018 season.
