Deputies seek information on attempted kidnapping in Pueblo County

Posted

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a suspect accused of attempting to kidnap a student Tuesday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies said a 15-year old male student told them that a car was following him while he was walking to school in the 24000 block of Gale Road. He was on his way to the District 70 Online School, when a silver, two-door car with faded paint, rolled down the window and repeatedly asked him if he wanted a ride due to the rain.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect then drove to the side of the road and got out of the car in an attempt to grab the 15-year old by the arm. The victim told deputies he was able to kick the suspect and escape his grasp.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim ran away and hid in a nearby drainage ditch before going home. The student did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Deputies describe the suspect as 30-40 year old white man, 6’4", heavy set, with light brown short hair, scruffy facial hair, and was wearing a gray jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office at (719) 583-6250.
