Colorado Springs Police arrested a suspect in connection to a double homicide Saturday night near the Bear Creek Dog Park.

Police said they arrested 19-year-old Nashid Rayon Rivers on suspicion of first degree murder Sunday.

Police say Rivers was responsible for shooting and killing a man and a woman found in a vehicle Saturday night. Police have not yet identified the victims in that shooting.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 4800 block of Pacer Lane earlier in the day in Stetson Hills. One of the people involved in the situation told officers that they would find two people dead in a vehicle on the west side of town. They didn’t give police any information as to where that vehicle was located.

Officers spent hours searching for the vehicle when they finally found it around 9:30 Saturday night in the 300 block of Bergamo Way, near the Bear Creek Dog Park.

Both of the victims were pronounced dead on scene.
