Pit Bull owners may be partying soon in Castle Rock. The town of Castle Rock is changing its laws on owning a pit bull and dropping its ban. The town council is deciding that a law focusing on a dog’s behavior is more appropriate than banning an entire breed.
The decision makes Castle Rock the first town to drop the ban among cities that have bans in place. Bans are in place in Aurora, Commerce City, Denver, Fort Lupton, Lone Tree, and Louisville.
Two more formal readings on the new law takes place on Tuesday night, with the final reading to be held in May. Until then, the current ban remains in place.
