Our News5 Athlete of the Week is Casey Fetters of Cheyenne Mountain golf.
Casey has seven top tens in her senior season and a pair of top five finishes for the Indians. She is the senior leader on a young team.
But she almost put golf aside to focus on school and her true love, acting. She just wrapped up a run in the production of Bye, Bye Birdie playing the character Kate McAfee.
Once she met head coach John Carricato two years ago, they worked out a schedule for her to balance all three.
"I said, ‘I can’t come to Wednesday practices but I have 7th period off. (Carricato) said, just meet me here at 7th period and we’ll just hit balls for an hour and it will be fine. And I was like, oh… OK!’ we can do this."
