Jury selection begins for a driver accused in fatal crash

COLORADO SPRINGS — Jury selection began Monday for one of the suspects in the case of that killed a man in an alleged racing incident in Colorado Springs.

32-year-old Alisha Jade Beauchamp entered a plea of not guilty to vehicular homicide.

The second suspect, 26-year-old Brayden Buchholz, also pleaded not guilty.

On the morning of November 2, 2018, Beauchamp and Buchholz were reportedly going 70 miles per hour, double the speed limit, down N. Nevada Ave. when Norman Giddings' car was hit as he took a turn onto E. Cimarron St.

Giddings was ejected from the vehicle by the force of the crash and died on scene.

Beauchamp and her juvenile passanger were treated and released for minor injuries.
